As a result of the Autism Act (NI) 2011, the DHSSPS are
leading on the development of a NI Government ASD Strategy and already there
have been 5 pre consultation events held in venues across Northern Ireland.
Autism organisations are obviously keen that this
opportunity to shape a NI Government ASD Strategy should be accessible to ALL.
However, participating in the above mentioned
social gatherings or events is not an option for many individuals with
ASD and it may just not be possible for all family members (grandparents,
working parents) to attend personally.
The DHSSPS responded positively to requests to expand the
pre consultation exercise to include an on-line questionnaire option.
The consultation period for the online questionnaire ended on Friday 20th April. Thanks to everyone who responded.
